Ridge House

The project
A low, white house that steps down a wooded ridge in three terraces, each one opening onto its own garden.
The clients asked for a house that would feel as good with two people in it as with twenty. We answered with a sequence of rooms that can be closed down in winter and thrown open in summer.
Board-marked concrete walls hold the heat of the low winter sun, while deep overhangs keep the summer sun off the glass.
