Most new-year resolutions fail by February for the same reason: they're too big. We looked at 2.1 million habits created in Streakly and found that the smallest ones last the longest.
Two minutes is enough
Habits that take under two minutes are 3.4 times more likely to reach a 30-day streak than habits that take half an hour. Starting small isn't lazy, it's strategic.
You don't rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your habits.
Attach it to something you already do
“After I pour my coffee, I'll stretch for two minutes.” Linking a new habit to an existing routine gives it a natural trigger.
Grow it later
Once a habit feels automatic, usually after four to eight weeks, stretch it. Two push-ups become ten. One page becomes a chapter.
