Graduation day in Kisumu
Sixty-one of our scholars finished secondary school this year. Three of them tell us what comes next.
Before March, Chikondi walked to the river twice a day. It took her three hours and she was often late for school, or did not go at all.
Drilling day
The whole village came out to watch the rig. When water came up at 42 metres, people danced in the mud.
Now I fetch water in ten minutes and I am the first one in class.
Keeping it running
A village committee of five, three of them women, collects a small monthly fee and has been trained to fix the pump themselves.
