Every morning around a hundred balloons rise over the fairy chimneys of Cappadocia. It is one of the most photographed sunrises in the world. But is it worth the early start and the price?

What it costs

Standard flights run from about $180 to $300 per person depending on season and basket size. Smaller baskets cost more and feel far more personal.

Safety first

Only fly with operators licensed by the civil aviation authority, and accept cancellations gracefully: pilots will not fly in wind, and neither should you.
